Delhi Capitals are on top of the standings coming into the clash with 10 points from six games in IPL 2025. Gujarat Titans are, meanwhile, second with eight points. There are three more teams joining Gujarat on 8 points: Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants (before Friday’s IPL clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings.)
This season, the Narendra Modi Stadium has already hosted three IPL 2025 games and Gujarat have won two of them. They started their season with a narrow 11-run defeat to the Punjab Kings before beating Mumbai Indians by 36 runs and then the Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs.
The visiting team, Delhi Capitals, come into the game after a morale-boosting victory in the Super Over against Rajasthan Royals at home.
Gujarat Titans meanwhile are reeling with player issues: they saw South African pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada return home for personal reasons in the middle of the event and then were dealt with another blow as New Zealand star Glenn Phillips was ruled out of the event with a groin injury.
