The United States men’s football team captain Christian Pulisic broke into a dance after scoring a goal against Jamaica, mimicking US President-elect Donald Trump’s viral moves at a recent rally. The forward, however, said that it was just fun and not politically motivated.
“I saw everyone doing it yesterday in the NFL, I saw Jon Jones do it, and we were just having a bit of fun. I thought it was a pretty fun dance. Obviously, that’s the ‘Trump Dance’ but it was just a dance that everyone’s doing. He’s the one who created it, so I just thought it was fun,” Pulisic said after his team defeated Jamaica 4-2 in the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal
“It’s not a political dance. It was just for fun. I saw a bunch of people do it and thought it was funny, so I enjoyed it. I hope some people did,” he added.

A couple of days ago, Jon Jones celebrated his defeat of Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 by doing the dance and then briefly handing over the UFC heavyweight title to the US President elect. While Jones did his little shimmy, his defeated opponent crawled on all fours in the background.
Trump was attending the UFC 309 fight night after taking a break from making decisions on who would join his cabinet when he formally takes over. Trump was in the front row for the fights, flanked by UFC chief Dana White on his right and X owner Elon Musk on his left.
Musk and Trump have been inseparable in recent times with the latter also naming Musk to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency. Also joining the posse were Robert Kennedy Jr, who Trump has already named lead the Department of Health and Human Services in his incoming administration and Kid Rock.
Las Vegas Raiders player Brock Bowers also recently pulled off the same dance after scoring a touchdown in a match against the Miami Dolphins.
