The biggest sellers in Europe this summer
Â
10) Everton – £70m

Â
9) Nottingham Forest – £70.2m
The vast majority of that money has come from Lyon for Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala, but there is also the dodgiest PSR deal of all that has seen Newcastle United overpay for one of their many poor goalkeepers.
Â
8) Juventus – £76.7m
Matias Soule and Dean Huijsen have followed Samuel Iling-Junior out of the door as Juventus have cashed in on some of their young players.
Â
7) Bologna – £82.4m
They sold Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United and then Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal, and even managed to eke a few million from Inter for Marko Arnautovic.
Â
6) Wolves – £91.9m
Gary O’Neil might finally have the freedom to spend big after cashing in on Pedro Neto, who joins Max Kilman in leaving Wolves this summer.
Â
5) Manchester City – £99m
Julian Alvarez has propelled the Premier League champions after the World Cup winner joined Atletico Madrid for an initial £64m.
4) Rennes – £106.34m
The second club past the £100m sales mark after the accepted a huge wodge of cash from PSG for teenager Desire Doue.
Â
3) Aston Villa – £122.2m
Only Chelsea have spent more in the summer transfer window but Villa’s PSR concerns have made sales necessary, with Douglas Luiz making up the bulk of their windfall before they also got their money back on Moussa Diaby as he headed to Saudi Arabia.
Â
2) Chelsea – £123.5m
The biggest sellers of the 2023 summer transfer window are hoping to successfully defend their crown. Chelsea have made pure profit on Lewis Hall, Omari Hutchinson, Ian Maatsen, and now Conor Gallagher. Trevoh Chalobah will probably be next. They should sell 10 more who they signed for about £210m. They better get moving. Fast.
Â
1) Leeds United – £138.8m
Leeds’ desperation to raise funds has seen them sanction the ‘heartbreaking’ sale of teenager Archie Gray, who has joined Tottenham for around £40m. They landed the same amount for the similarly reluctant sale of Georginio Rutter, who joins Crysencio Summerville, Luis Sinisterra, Marc Roca, Charlie Cresswell, Diego Llorente and Glen Kamara as permanent Elland Road departees.
