“The Dragons acknowledge receipt of a breach notice issued today by the NRL concerning Ronald Volkman earlier this year,” the club said in a statement.
“The notice proposes a suspended fine which the club will accept. The NRL acknowledged the cooperation of the Dragons with the investigation of the NRL Integrity Unit.
“In navigating this complex situation, the club worked closely with all parties involved to reach a resolution and is committed to ensuring compliance moving forward.”
The injury that scuppered the deal, a contentious shoulder injury, has been repaired and the former New Zealand Warrior has resumed contact training in a bid to find a NRL club for 2025.
In an interview with this masthead last month, Volkman said he was looking for a fresh start in the NRL.

“Everything is all done, I’m grateful for that,” Volkman said at the time. “I’m keen to see what the next few months look like.
“Just looking at some of the games this year, seeing some of the boys burst onto the scene, it’s given me extra motivation to kick on.
“Once I get that opportunity, I will give it my all. Rugby league isn’t forever, it’s short-term in your life and I want to make the most out of it.”
