Gujarat Titans ace pacer Kagiso Rabada has returned home due to “personal reasons.” The pacer did miss Titans’ last game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru due to the same. Having played for the Punjab Kings franchise in the previous season Titans have purchased the player for whooping 10.75 crores in the auction held in November last year in Saudi Arabia.
“Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa from the ongoing season of the IPL due to some personal reasons. The South Africa international was a part of Gujarat Titans’ first two matches of the IPL 2025. Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter,” Gujarat Titans said in a statement.

In the absence of Rabada, GT could be relying on his South African teammate Gerald Coetzee or Afghanistan all-rounder Karim Janat.

Speaking to the Indian Express Rabada would tell about the Titans’ pace attack. “The players have been given the freedom, and everything is well organized and chilled out to be honest, but there’s a lot of hard work being done behind the scenes. I’m really enjoying working with Ashish (Nehra). It’s a great bunch of lads with a nice bowling attack, with good pace, which will suit the Ahmedabad conditions.”
“Using saliva and sweat are two different aspects… they have different textures, though I can’t explain scientifically how it affects the ball. Let’s see how this IPL goes with saliva being used again. It’s definitely interesting,” Rabada would give his view about letting the fielding team apply saliva on the ball and if needed another ball can be taken in the second innings after 10 overs if there were to be any dew after the authorization of umpires.
