Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Why does Nathan Lyon get triggered by Indian players and why Australian players find Ravindra Jadeja ‘annoying’

Ahead of the hotly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Australian players had some interesting thoughts on their Indian counterparts with Steve Smith and pacer Josh Hazlewood branding Ravindra Jadeja as ‘annoying’ while Nathan Lyon said that he gets ‘triggered by any Indian player.’

In a light-hearted interaction with Star Sports, Smith and Hazlewood were asked about the most annoying player/s in the Indian dressing room and they both said Jadeja’s name because of how good he was.

“I get annoyed by Jadeja on the field just because he’s a very good player. He always finds a way to get in the battle, whether it’s scoring runs, taking wickets, or making a great catch. It can be a bit annoying at times, but he’s a very good player,” said Smith.

Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne termed Rishabh Pant as the most ‘amusing’ player in the Indian team, saying he played the sport in the right spirit.

“The one I always find the most amusing is Rishabh Pant. He’s always funny, (has) a great laugh, and plays the game in the right spirit,” Labuschagne told Star Sports as per PTI.

Festive offer

Pant had played a key role in sealing India’s Test series win during the last tour in Australia in 2020-21 and will look to continue that form in India’s trophy defence in the upcoming 5-match Test series, set to start on November 22.

Also, Travis Head felt the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the most amusing of all while Nathan Lyon said “I get triggered by all Indian players,” when he was asked the same question.

“I think a lot of people would say Virat just because of how good he is. He’s always getting runs, and his high energy is always there. He’s always into you,” Head said on Kohli.
