Here we go friends, cloud’s nice and high and the SCG stands look to be about 80 per cent full for the first ball from the home-town veteran Mitch Starc. Three slips and a gully to Jaiswal, taking strike at the Randwick end.
First ball: Full to start, on leg and swinging back across Jaiswal, he presents a straight bat and blocks to mid-on. That looked good from Starc.
Second ball: Similar line, back of a length and less movement, defended to mid-wicket.
Third ball: Boundary. Very well played. Full and fast, Jaiswal clips it along the ground in front of mid-wicket. Raced away on a very quick outfield. Morning rain didn’t slow that down at all.
Fourth ball: Starc responds on a fifth stump line. Left alone by Jaiswal with a hint of movement after passing the bat.
Fifth ball: Shorter and awkward, in at Jaiswal’s ribs but he handles it well. Nurdles down to fine leg for a single.
Sixth ball: Rahul faces his first ball. Pitches outside leg and he bunts down to mid-wicket. No run.
Pat Cummins now from the other end.
India 0-5: Jaiswal 5*, Rahul 0*
